Cyber Attack Volume in Turkey Decreases by 80%
Data published by the WatchGuard Threat Lab, outlining Turkey's 2025 cybersecurity panorama, indicates that while attacks have decreased quantitatively, they have evolved qualitatively. According to the report, network-based attacks fell to 61,599 with a dramatic drop of 94% compared to the previous year, while the total attack volume decreased from 1.5 million to the 300,000s level.
Contrary to this general downward trend, a 1.37% increase was observed in malware attacks, and an all-time record was broken in October, with 3% consisting of Zero Day attacks.
Experts state that cybercriminals now prefer "Living off the land" techniques—methods that abuse system tools, are fileless, and difficult to detect—rather than noisy and mass attacks. This situation proves that behavioral analysis-based EDR and NDR solutions have gained critical importance in the cyber defense line, moving beyond traditional measures.
Behind firewalls, adopting the "Zero Trust" principle and standardizing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) are on the way to becoming the most effective insurance against modern threats.
